Terms & returns
The short version: if something arrives broken, wrong or not as described, you are entitled to a repair, a replacement or your money back. If you simply changed your mind, we will swap it or give you credit. Nothing on this page takes away rights you have under Australian Consumer Law.

Faulty, damaged or not as described
Everything sold here comes with consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded, limited or contracted out of. Goods must be of acceptable quality, match their description and photographs, and be fit for the purpose they are sold for.
If an item arrives damaged, faulty, or different from how it was described, you are entitled to a repair, a replacement, or a full refund. Which of those applies depends on how serious the problem is:
- Major problem: the item is unsafe, badly flawed, significantly different from its description, or unusable for its normal purpose. You choose: a full refund or a replacement. You may also claim compensation for any reasonably foreseeable loss.
- Minor problem: something we can put right. We may choose to repair the item within a reasonable time. If we cannot, or we take too long, you can then choose a refund or a replacement instead.
This applies whether or not the item is still in its original packaging, and it is not limited to a set number of days, a consumer guarantee claim can be made for as long as is reasonable given the price and nature of the item. We do not charge for return postage on a faulty item, and we will not ask you to deal with the manufacturer instead of us.
Change of mind and wrong size
We are not legally required to do anything if you simply change your mind or order the wrong size, but we would rather you ended up with something you actually wear. So:
- Within 30 days of delivery, we will exchange an item for a different size or another item of the same value, or issue store credit if you would rather choose later.
- The item must be unworn and unwashed, with tags still attached, in a condition we can reasonably resell.
- Return postage is at your cost for change-of-mind returns, and the original postage you paid is not refunded.
- We do not give cash refunds for change of mind. (If the item is faulty or not as described, that is a different thing entirely and the section above applies.)
How to start a return
- Email us first at birdrepublicau@gmail.com with your order number, what the problem is, and, if something is damaged or faulty, a photo. Please do not post anything back before you have heard from us, so we can tell you what is needed and keep track of your parcel.
- We will reply with return instructions and confirm who is covering the postage.
- Send the item to the return address below, keeping your tracking number until the return is resolved.
Once the item reaches us we will assess it and let you know the outcome. Refunds go back to the original payment method and can take a few business days to appear, depending on your bank.
Return address
Bird Republic Returns
George Bass Avenue
Endeavour Hills VIC 3802
Australia
Please email us before sending anything back. Parcels that arrive without warning are harder to match to an order, which slows your return down.
Orders, stock and small runs
Characters are printed in short runs, and when a run sells out it is not automatically reprinted. Being on the waitlist does not reserve stock or guarantee an item, it means you are told about a restock before it is announced publicly.
Prices are in Australian dollars. We may correct pricing or product information that is obviously wrong, and if we cannot fulfil an order after it is placed, we will cancel it and refund you in full.
Shipping
Delivery times depend on the carrier and are not something we control. Once a parcel has been handed over, tracking is the best guide to where it is; if it appears lost, contact us and we will help chase it.
Your information
We collect as little as possible:
- The waitlist: if you give us your email address, it is used to tell you about restocks and new characters, and nothing else. You can ask us to remove it at any time.
- The game: the stickers and clothes you collect in The Legend of Dominic: The Last Chip are saved in your own browser. If you sign in with Google, your collection is also stored against your account so it follows you between devices, and we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google in order to show you who is signed in. Nothing about your collection is sold or shared.
- We do not sell personal information to anybody.
To have your waitlist entry or your game account and collection deleted, email us at birdrepublicau@gmail.com.
The artwork
Every character on this site began as a drawing made by hand, and the characters, their names and the world they live in remain the property of Bird Republic. Buying a garment does not transfer any rights in the artwork. Please do not reproduce, resell or print the designs without asking first, but do post photographs of yourself wearing them, which is entirely the point.
